A wedding invitation

The "Pill box" on the left is actually a "wedding invitation"!...
This one is the most creative and funny invitation i had seen for a long time.I assume that the couple works in pharmaceutic sector. The writings all aronud the box is about the wedding date/place and humor of the original box-like "do not keep away from the children"- and the pills are traditional wedding candies.
For such a good idea like this,all i can send is my best wishes.

This year’s topic at internaitonal students congress GAIA is “Marketing Communication” .The 9th congress will be held on the dates 18-23 June at Boagazici University and I will be there personally on the 22nd. This year on the 22nd at noon time we will organize a competition (episode 3) The concept of this competition together with the posters you will see, brochures and t-shirt designs are made by myself. Adidas' "Be the ball" campaign by New Zealand Whybin TBWA was also a candidate for this awars. But “Fast” with the campaign icon, right connection with the consumer and with the correct promosion campaigns deserved the awards. I just learned something, not a good idea but interesting information. Some of you might know the documentary in Discovery Channel called "Mythbusters" with special effect specialists Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman. Adam Savage in fact played a role in advertising history. The advertising book called "Hey Whipple!Squeeze this!"-Luke Sullivan- was named after the Whipple toilet paper ads, where you could see a character called Mr.Whipple (Dick Wilson) in their TV spot. In one of the spots there was a red haired kid . That red haired kid is Adam Savage

About The Crystal Apple Advertising Award in Turkey

Recently we witnessed the award ceromony of the 18th “Crystal Apple Advertising Award” which is held annually in Istanbul. This happening is a good social occasion if you’d like to see some collegues from the industry and have a chat while you drink your glass of wine. Also lately it became almost traditional that everyone talks about how the awards are given to one and others friend etc. As for my problem with this award ceromony is the last comment. In many platforms like internet sites, blogs this is under discussion. Most of the work sent to the award organization are seen for the first time. Some people critisize this, or even protest. But the bitterness is that these works are in fact really good ideas. Then why are we exagerating this so much? That is the question…Not only we inb Turkey but worldwide this topic is still beeing discussed. These type of -work for award ceramonies- have become a new type of illegal branch in the Ad award ceramonies. Some organiziaton call it "Scam ads" and the works done here as "Ghost" . All around the world in advertising awards –except Effie I believe- we face the same difficulty. In 2002, London Advertising Awards announced that they will open a branch for this but did not repeat it the next year as they were left alone I believe. As for in Turkey we ought to have a new category such as this in our award organiziatons like “Crystal” or in the “Red Awards” . Let’s witness the real good ideas in competition under this category.
At least this is my idea…

The failure of an Ad strategy

Inour local TV’s recently we see a TV spot regaridng fuel for cars for the brand named PO(Petrol Ofisi).. In the Ad we see a kid and the character POMAN having a chat looking at the flying F-16s in the sky. On the road we see Opels driving. You have impression that your car would go like a jet with the new product called "EuropoDizel". At this point my friend who has no advertising background but works in avition critisized this ad and explained… The jet fuel –kerosen- is known as the second worst quality fuel in the world as it is not purefied. This TV spot was made fun of by the aviation industry employees. Interesting…How come miss such an important detail?...

Our robot is back!this time not in a car park but on ice. On the Ad our robot is speed skating on ice and at the end suddenly stops in front of a bunch of people staring at the ice leaving ice flakes in front of them. On the Ad we listen to the electro-house music by The Egg called "Walking Away" . The person giving life to the robot with his movements by sensors is Nicky Gooch, English speed skating champion and the couch of the olympic team. According to the surveys C4 became England’s most popular car in its segement.

Hello again to everyone… After a weeks holiday I am back to the rushing life of the world metropol Istanbul. In fact I came with a real good idea. The municipality in Antlaya has been really working very hard in the recent years. The really target for beeing “ the capital of world tourism” and therefor accomplish everykind of investment. Last exapmle for this is the photo you see below. “Walking stairs and lift for handicapped people on th overpass”
In the city many of these new structures are used. I was very impresed to see an idea which I thought for years. I don’t know how it’s going to be after the rain season stars but still it is a very good idea. I apploud everyone participated in this project.

The new era of advertising is close.
Eden games has developed a game for Atari that takes in game advertising to a new level: in-store shopping while in the game. IGA will release the simultaneous-play game in September. In the game, Test Drive Unlimited, players, while driving around Hawaii in a selection of 100 customizable cars by Lamborghini, Feffari and Mercedes Benz, can stop and go into Ben Sherman and Marc Ecko stores and try on the fashion brands' clothing. The game will also interact with another game, Massively Open Online Racing.

IGA Worldwide CEO Justin Townsend says the company's Radial Network will track how often, when and where gamers are exposed to in-game ads.
